TLDR version: The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and Commercial Radio & Audio (CRA) jointly published figures for digital audio advertising this week. Quarterly online audio ad revenue is up 16% year-on-year to hit $68m. Traditional radio ad revenue is much larger than online advertising, but growth is hard to find, so the online market is attractive. One of the benefits of an ARN/SCA deal would be to strengthen the radio industry’s offer against competitors in the online audio market.
