TLDR version: Amazon Prime’s acquisition this week of extensive cricket rights (including T20) locks in a strong sports offer that will attract many viewers. The deal is not caught by either the current or proposed new anti-siphoning regime because none of these matches are played in Australia.  However, the deal may incidentally be a test of the federal government’s reasoning for extending the anti-siphoning scheme.
